Release and Reward

Matthew 1300x1300 3B

In the story of the rich man, Jesus reveals that we need more than religion to be accepted by God. We need to be perfect as He is perfect, and that perfection can only come through reestablishing our relationship with him. There was something in the way of the rich man having a relationship with God. He was worshiping another god. Jesus ask’s him to give up his god to follow him and the man turns away sorrowfully. This reveals that the rich man didn’t really want to have a relationship with God, he merely wanted something from God. He wanted a get out of hell free card. That’s exactly what religion does, provides a get out of hell free card without the need for a heart change. God doesn’t want religion, he wants relationship. If there is only one who is good, Jesus being good reveals who he really is. We should not only be interested in hearing what Jesus has to say, but we should desire to do what he wants us to do. Because He came to give us a life filled with blessing and lead us into an eternity of incredible reward. But before we can enjoy the rewards He has prepared, we need to release our hearts to Him. When we release, Jesus rewards. Because He is God, and He is Good!

The Discriminatory God?

Matthew 1300x1300 3BIn the wake of several states passing Religious Freedom laws many are accusing these states of discrimination. And since Christianity is the faith that’s leading the charge the question becomes, “is Christianity discriminatory, and even does God discriminate?” Join us for our study in Matthew chapter 19 as we look at what is discrimination, and what Jesus had to say about these relevant issues happening in modern times.”

Unconventional Warfare

upon this rock 3000x3000The Resurrection of Jesus Christ is the anchor for our faith. Without the resurrection of Jesus, Paul says, our faith is useless. But Jesus didn’t just come to give us a ticket into heaven. No, he came to give us an abundant life. If we follow his teachings, we are like the builder who builds his house upon the rock. When we encounter storms, we will not be shaken, but will be left standing strong. Jesus is the foundation stone, the cornerstone prophesied by Isaiah who we could safely build upon. The more of our lives are built on the rock, the more we will experience that overflowing life of blessing no matter what storms we encounter!
